Canadian Summer Program

The Canadian program offers four opportunities for students interested in developing their English skills, as well exploring the great country of Canada during the summer. These programs are designed for students between the ages of 11 and 18. Students can choose to study for as little as 1 week to as many as 9 weeks.

Summer Options

Cowichan Valley

Cowichan Valley’s Summer Program is a four week program designed to provide our students with a unique Canadian experience with the opportunity to enjoy all that Canada has to offer. The Summer Program at Cowichan allows students to participate in outdoor activities and build relationships with Canadian families. Students will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful cities of Victoria and Vancouver, hike, kayak and much more.

  • Students can sign up for 1 to 4 weeks during the month of July
  • Variety of activities, including: rock climbing, camping, hiking, kayaking and more
  • Tours of various area of British Columbia
  • Individual students and student groups accepted
  • ESL certified teachers
Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows

The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Summer Program is designed to introduce international students to Canadian culture combined with ESL instruction and recreational activities. International students will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of outdoor excursions. There are opportunities for both adventurous students, as well as students who are looking to try an activity for the first time.

  • Students can sign up for 1 to 4 weeks during the months of July and August
  • Variety of outdoor and indoor activities, including rock climbing, hiking, canoeing and more
  • Individual students and student groups accepted
  • Available for students ages 13 to 18
Victoria

The Victoria Summer Program gives international students the opportunity to enjoy amazing recreational activities, while developing their English language skills. The program is a six day-a-week program, with students enjoying free time each Sunday with their host family. Victoria is full of natural beauty and Canadian culture, allowing students to experience both during the summer program.

  • Students can sign up for 2 to 8 weeks from early July to late August
  • 22 hours of ESL learning per week, focused on reading, writing and listening in English
  • 12 hours of local cultural activities per week
  • Individual students and student groups accepted
  • Available for students ages 11 to 18
Nova Scotia

The Nova Scotia Summer Program offers a unique experience for students from the ages of 13 to 18. The Nova Scotia Program is the biggest summer program SMG Canada offers, with approximately 200 students from 15 countries attending each year. The program offers boarding accommodation on a college campus in the city of Truro, Nova Scotia.

  • Students can sign up for 1 to 9 weeks during the months of July and August
  • 15 hours of ESL instruction per week
  • Boarding Accommodation
  • Individual students and student groups accepted
  • Available for students ages 13 to 18
